FLORIDA BIBLE CAMP 2010

 

      We had a wonderful week of camp at Florida Bible Camp from July 4-10. Our theme was “Truth Mobile.” During the week we had two teens from Tallahassee baptized! After returning from camp, Collin McFarland and Nathan Carbaugh were also baptized! It is a blessing to see these teenagers come to Christ for salvation.

 

      A big thanks goes out to all the people who helped out at camp this year. Petey Bingham, Sam Darr, Ana Devine, Doug Davis, Carley Grebing, Jeff Howell, Rich Howell, Kirk Kinsman, Mark Kinsman, Josh Mann, Savanna McGhyhy, Tonya McFarland, Swayne Parsons, Chris Radcliffe, Brett Schubert, Farra Sewell, Sarah Skipper, Skip Skipper all were involved in helping as counselors, teachers, kitchen help, supervisors, and helpers for the week.

 

      I’d also like to personally thank everyone who offered scholarship money for the kids to be able to attend camp and those who gave supplies for our week. We could not have had such an amazing week without your support.

THE LORD ADDED

        We rejoice with Collin McFarland and family in his baptism on Saturday, July 10, 2010 and Nathan Carbaugh in his baptism on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. We also rejoice with Clinton Cunningham in his baptism on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. May we all be an encouragement to our three new brothers in Christ.

 

IT’S A BOY!

        The Holway family rejoices in the birth of Timothy John Holway born on July 8, 2010 to Sean and Denise. Timothy weighed 8 lbs 7 oz, measured 20 inches tall and he is welcomed to the family by his big sister, Isabella (2).

 

IT’S A GIRL!

The Macgregor clan rejoices in the birth of Rowan Christine Macgregor born to Callum and Laura on July 8, 2010. Rowan weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and measured 20 ½ inches tall.

SYMPATHY

        Sympathy of the congregation is extended to Henry Turney at the death of his brother, John Turney of Sylacauga, Alabama. Please remember the family in your prayers.

 

ZAMBIA MEDICAL MISSION TRIP

        Prayers are requested for Marylou Behnke and Toni Lindsey as they begin their medical mission trip in Zambia. If you would like to keep up with the progress of the team you can go to www.zambiamedicalmission.com where they will try to post regular updates. However, please be aware that technology will be challenging and updates might not always be possible.

 

ATTENTION ARTISTS ‘N’ CRAFTERS

Your creative works are still being accepted for the UCCC continuing art exhibit. All work must have a Biblical theme.  See Beatrice Hines for details.

 

LADIES THIRST QUENCHER

Ladies please sign up if you are planning to attend our next “Thirst Quencher” on Saturday morning, July 24th, 9-11am. Our theme will be “Finding Balance in our Life” and our speaker will be Becky Barclift.

 

LADIES NIGHT OUT

        All ladies are reminded to sign up if you are planning to join us for Ladies Night Out tomorrow night (7/19) at 5:30pm at Mexico Lindo Restaurant.

 

CRAFTY LADIES

        Join us at 10am each Tuesday during the summer, for fellowship and to work on individual projects. Anyone is welcome whether you have a project or not. For more information, contact Phyllis Strain or Debbie Turk.

GATORS FOR CHRIST Summer B

This Wednesday at 7pm, John Bell will be continuing our exciting study on 1 Corinthians in room #212-214!  Thursday at 4pm, we have our monthly wheelchair ramp build for a handicapped member of our community (meet at UCCC at 3:30pm to help).  Saturday, we will have dinner & a movie TBA!  Next Sunday at 7pm, we have Dinner & a Devo at the McCall’s home!

SONQUEST

The deadline to get your $25 deposit for the SonQuest trip is July 25th. Total cost for hotel and SonQuest registration will be $100. If I do not have the deposit by that date, the total price for you will go up. We will be going to Wet n' Wild on Sunday afternoon after SonQuest ends. That cost will be $20. You will also need money for meals throughout the weekend.  Please let me know that you are coming and get the deposit to me ASAP!!! Thanks.

FBC GOLF BENEFIT

Mark your calendars/save the date for the Florida Bible Camp Golf Benefit on Saturday, October 23rd (no Gator game) at the UF Golf Course! Breakfast, registration and range balls will be at 7am, shotgun start at 8am, and lunch at 12:30pm. Even if you don’t play golf let a golfer know. See Donny, Don Turk or Robbie for more details.
