A Spiritual “Work Out” for 2010

I promised last Sunday to give you a completed copy of the “plan” I briefly outlined for you in my sermon, so here it is. Remember what Paul said in Philippians 2:12-13 – that God “WORKS IN us” to accomplish His purposes. Our part is to “WORK OUT our own salvation with fear and trembling.” That is, we need to have an “action plan” to specifically live out the Christian life.

A DAILY “Work Out”

Say your prayers (Eph 6:18; 1 Th 5:17)

Get into the Word (Ac 17:11; Mat 4:4) Follow the reading program, “A Year with Jesus”!

  Encourage someone (Heb 3:12-14)

Do a good deed (Gal 6:9-10; Titus 3:8)

Put in a good word for God! (Heb 13:15-16)

A WEEKLY “Work Out”

Assemble with your spiritual family (Heb 10:24-25)

  Give generously (1 Cor 16:2; 2 Cor 9.6-7)

Pay a visit to someone who could use one (Js 1:27)

Invite someone to a church assembly or activity – or to study the Bible with you (Col 4:5-6)

A MONTHLY “Work Out”

Be hospitable – invite someone over or “out” (1 Peter 4:9; Rom 12:13)

Get involved – be part of a ministry or program, in which you can work with others (Eccl 4:9-10)

Do something special for your Lord! (Mark 14:3-9)

Try this salvation “work out” and you’ll be “in shape” in no time – in the “shape” of Jesus Christ, that is! All grace to you and all glory to God in 2010!
