Lads to Leaders

Lads to Leaders and Lasses to Leaderettes - or L2L, is a youth leadership ministry designed to provide Church of Christ congregations with a program to train young people in K4 to high school in their future roles as leaders.
L2L provides a year round training program designed to prepare young man and women to become better Christians, better citizens and outstanding leaders through training and encouragement in an enjoyable and fun environment.
Areas that L2L participants work on throughout the year include Song Leading, Scripture Reading, Scripture Memorization, Prayer, Public Speaking, and Good Samaritan. Participants also have opportunities to earn leadership awards in areas such as Bible Knowledge, Friendship, Christian Graces, and Dependability. During the school year, students work towards goals in Good Samaritan, Know the Books, Art Says it, Mass Media, Music Composition, Scrapbook, and Centurion of Scripture.
A highlight of the year for L2L is a state-wide competition held in Orlando each spring. Areas of competition include Song Leading, Scripture reading, Speech, Puppet Theater, Debate, and Bible Bowl. UCCC's L2L participants have placed first in Bible Bowl three out of the last four years.
In additional to the educational and training aspects of L2L, each student has an opportunity to work one-on-one with a Christian mentor. This mentor relationship is a great chance for students to bond with other Christians within the UCCC congregation and understand the importance of their faith to them. This mentor relationship also helps parents reinforce Christian values and students can see how Christ works through us at different stages of our lives.
