Christmas for the Community

On December 13, 2009, University City, in cooperation with the Partnership for Strong Families, hosted its 13th annual “Christmas for the Community,” an event to encourage and support foster children and their families in Gainesville.

Held in UCCC’s Family Life Center, the 2009 “Christmas for the Community” provided gifts to more than 160 children.  The celebration was preceded by a Christmas luncheon, and included a visit from Santa Claus, face painting, a “moon bounce,” Gator football players autographing posters and hats, and miniature horse petting.

Gifts for “Christmas for the Community” were provided by members of the University City family and friends in the community.  The event is a service project of “Gators for Christ,” University City’s college student ministry.
